REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) #012-005

The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is soliciting proposals to establish a Contract with a qualified and experienced firm to provide interior detailed cleaning of VRE’s active rail car fleet.

Proposals will be considered from qualified and experienced firms who are regularly established in the business of detailed cleaning and in the judgment of VRE are financially responsible.  Through prior work performed, Offerors must be able to show evidence of reliability, ability, experience and personnel to perform the work.

The RFP will be available beginning January 24, 2012 from the VRE website at http://www.vre.org.  At the website, select “Procurement”. 

If potential Offerors are accessing a copy of the RFP via VRE’s website, be advised that it is your responsibility to monitor this site for any amendments.  Failure to submit signed amendments may be grounds to declare your proposal non-responsive.  The RFP can be printed and submitted the same as a regular solicitation.  If there is a question about the closing date, the date printed on the RFP is the most current.

An optional rail car inspection will be held on February 4, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. EST. at the VRE Crossroads Yard, 9400 Crossroads Industrial Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.  Offerors must confirm their attendance by February 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. EST.

Any changes to the solicitation as a result of the rail car inspection will be issued through a written addendum to the solicitation.
