REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) #013-009

The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is soliciting proposals to establish two (2) Contracts with qualified and experienced firm(s) to provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, supplies, tools, transportation and have sufficient financial resources to perform maintenance services for VRE commuter rail stations and parking facilities. The major tasks consist of daily custodial services (including landscaping and winter seasonal services) and preventative maintenance services (including repairs and construction services).

Proposals will be considered from qualified and experienced firms who are regularly established in the business of facilities maintenance and custodial and seasonal services, and in the judgment of VRE are financially responsible.  Through prior work performed, Offerors must be able to show evidence of reliability, ability, experience, and personnel to perform the services.

The RFP will be available beginning February 21, 2013 from the VRE website at http://www.vre.org.  At the website, select “Procurement”. 

If potential Offerors are accessing a copy of the RFP via VRE’s website, be advised that it is your responsibility to monitor this site for any amendments.  Failure to submit signed amendments may be grounds to declare your proposal non-responsive.  The RFP can be printed and submitted the same as a regular solicitation.  If there is a question about the closing date, the date printed on the RFP is the most current.

An optional pre-proposal meeting will be held on March 7, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. EST at the VRE Offices, 1500 King Street, Suite 202, Alexandria, VA  22314.  

Any changes to the solicitation as a result of the pre-proposal meeting will be issued through a written addendum to the solicitation. 

Proposals are due March 22, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. EST.
