| Franconia-Springfield Station Rehabilitation |
Work at this station is underway. It includes demolition, replacement, modification and rehabilitation
of various elements within the eastern commuter platform and pedestrian bridge. |
| Broad Run Station Parking Expansion |
VRE plans to construct a parking garage near the platform, consolidate parking to areas closer to the station, and construct a Kiss and Ride loop. The goal is to add 700 spaces. |
| Broad Run Train Wash Facility |
VRE plans to construct a fully automated wash facility on VRE property at the Broad Run Yard in Manassas. The new facility will closely resemble the train wash building constructed several years ago at the Crossroads yard in Fredericksburg. |
| Lorton Station Expansion |
VRE plans to construct a platform extension east of the existing platform. The new platform will have canopy coverage with updated LED Lighting. The platform extension will allow for additional railcars to accomodate ridership growth. |
| Alexandria King Street Tunnel |
VRE plans to construct a pedestrian tunnel that connects the mezzanine of the King St. Metro Station to the VRE Alexandria Station. |
| Crossroads to Hamilton (Spotsylvania Third Track) and New Spotsylvania Station |
VRE plans to construct a third track on the CSX right of way from the VRE Crossroads Yard to Hamilton. The project will also construct a longer yard lead to accomodate a new VRE Spotsylvania Train Station. |
| Gainesville-Haymarket
Environmental Analysis and Preliminary Engineering |
VRE is conducting an environmental analysis and preliminary engineering for a proposed new branch of service to the Gainesville-Haymarket area of Prince William County and the addition of mainline track up to
approximately 11 miles in length. |
| Cherry Hill Third Track |
VRE has completed an Environmental Assessment and Preliminary Design for the addition of approximately 11.4 miles of mainline third track within the CSX line between Aquia Creek and Powell's Creek. |
