Tickets for all trains have been sold out at ALL vendors.
VRE is pleased to announce the 11th Annual Operation Lifesaver Santa Trains. We want everyone in the Metropolitan area to be conscientious of rail safety and to promote the “Look, Listen and Live” campaign.
This year Santa Claus will once again help us get the word out about rail safety on his special trains December 8, 2007. Trains will run on the Fredericksburg Line from Woodbridge, Leeland Road and Fredericksburg and on the Manassas Line from Manassas and Burke Centre. Each train will be an excursion – passengers will return to the same station they begin from.
Ride the Train with Santa, but Don't Forget to Bring a TOY
This year, VRE is continuing another holiday favorite. As part of the festivities, during the morning of Santa Trains our Fredericksburg, Manassas, Leeland Road, Burke Centre, and Woodbridge stations will become drop off sites for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign. We are encouraging everyone to bring a toy to the Santa Trains that will be shared with someone less fortunate in the Virginia area. (Yes, we will still be holding our annual on board toy drive December.)
Tickets will go on sale Monday, November 26 at the ticket outlets listed below. Tickets can not be reserved or sold in advance.
Tickets are $5 with net proceeds benefiting Operation Lifesaver. Payment may be made with cash or check.
All passengers, regardless of age, must have tickets. VRE tickets will NOT be honored for this special event. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Tickets for each station will only be sold at one location (except Casey's in D.C. which will have a limited number of tickets for each train).
Ticket sales are limited to 6 per person for most trains. Tickets for groups of more than 6 may be purchased only those trains marked with an * .
