Ride the VRE EZ Bus to Burke Centre

Sponsored by Fairfax County with funding from by the Commonwealth of Virginia

EZ Bus Logo Burke Centre riders can skip the hassle of driving to and parking at the VRE Burke Centre station and, instead, have an EZ commute to VRE. And, best of all, frequent riders may qualify for a 20% rebate on their VRE tickets!

What Is It?
The EZ Bus is a free subscription shuttle bus that will operate on two routes, one North of the VRE station and one south of the station. It will meet all northbound trains in the morning (except #322) and all southbound trains in the afternoon (including the midday!). It will pick you up at a designated spot, like a school bus would, and drop you right at the station. In the afternoon, it works in the reverse. For schedule information click here.

There is plenty of parking when I ride -- why should I take the bus?

If the lure of a 20% rebate on your ticket isn't enough, then think of your fellow commuters. Every space that is made available by an EZ Bus rider is one more space another VRE Commuter can use later in the morning.

How do I subscribe?
The bus can handle only a limited number of people and, to ensure availability, passengers must subscribe to the route and time they wish to ride. Subscribing is simple, all you need to do is provide your name, address and train number! Passengers may call 571-339-1004 or subscribe using the EZ Bus Form. Subscriptions are taken on a first come, first served basis. Once we receive your subscription, we will give you a confirmation number to ensure your seat.

When you subscribe you will be furnished directions to the bus stop nearest to your home and a "VRE EZ Bus" welcome package, including your Customer Incentive Card, will be mailed to you. (If you need a card and haven't received it in the mail, the friendly driver will be happy to provide one to you. ) As long as you take the same train and bus daily, your work is done. If you need to change your schedule, simply call the VRE EZ Bus Customer Coordinator at 571-339-1004 to change your rider profile and the bus you ride. It is that easy!

What if I didn't subscribe...can I still ride?
The bus will take passengers without subscriptions on a "space available" basis. Priority for seats will be given to those people who subscribe, but as long as there is room, non-subscribed riders are welcome.

How do I change my subscription?
For either a permanent change or a temporary change, simply call the EZ Bus Customer Coordinator at (571) 339-1004 between the hours of 5:00a and 7:00p. The representative will be happy to help you.

What About the Rebate?
Frequent riders qualify for a 20% rebate on their VRE monthly or four ten-ride tickets. Each time you ride the EZ bus you will get a special punch(or validation) on your VRE-EZ Incentive Card. Simply accumulate 15 validations and mail them back to VRE for the rebate. Click here for details on how to redeem your Incentive Card and receive your rebate.

Upon entering the bus in the AM the driver will punch your incentive card (with a special punch) to show you have used the service that day. When you reach 15 punches, you can mail the card, along with a copy of their tickets and the rebate form to VRE. Within 10 working days of receipt, VRE will rebate you 20% of your monthly ticket or 4 ten-trip tickets. Forms and information on how to redeem the incentive card will be available on the VRE website and in the take on literature at the station.
