Morning Service

VRE morning service was affected by an outage in CSX's system that transmits train bulletins to all train crews on their network. This bulletin system provides all of the train orders that apply to the section of track that the train operates on. As a result, some morning trains did not operate and others were delayed in beginning service until the system was fixed and trains could receive their orders.

Train 300 - delayed 16 minutes into Union Station due to passengers requiring assistance boarding/detraining, signal problems between Brooke and Quantico, difficulty platforming train at Woodbridge and a stop signal north of Alexandria.
Train 302 - delayed 10 minutes into Union Station due to following a freight train from north of Fredericksburg to Quantico and speed restrictions.
Train 306 - Cancelled due to CSX train bulletin system outage.
Train 308 - delayed 68 minutes into Union Station due to holding in train yard south of Fredericksburg to receive service orders and operating with additional rail cars which created longer than usual station dwell times for passengers boarding/detraining. FRCs were distributed on board to those affected.
