VRE participates in special annual events, as well as hosts public meetings and informational pop-ups on station platforms.
This year, we held a series of pop-up events at various stations throughout the VRE system. Like Meet the Management, each station addressed a theme based on feedback and questions we'd received from you, our passengers.

Every year just before Christmas, kids and their parents are given the opportunity to ride a VRE train to meet Santa and friends, who are on board to promote rail safety and Operation Lifesaver’s “Look, Listen and Live” campaign.

VRE participates in the annual Clifton Day Festival. The festival is an event where you can enjoy fine arts, crafts, and antiques in the historic town of Clifton. Kids will enjoy the music, family entertainment and the civil war re-enactment.

The Crystal City Station Improvements project is scheduled to complete the Preliminary Engineering (PE) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review phase of the project by spring 2021. The station improvements include an island platform with two entrances within the existing railroad right-of-way.
