
Kids Ride Free on VRE!
Did you know youth 18 years old and younger can ride VRE for free? Here's what you need to know:
- Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult during all travel and no ID is required.
- Youth 11-18 who are accompanied by an adult do not need an ID.
- Youth 11-18 who are not unaccompanied may present a school ID, state issued ID, a driver's license, or may apply for a VRE issued ID as valid identification for eligibility.

Kids ride free at all VRE stations!

Kids 18 and under ride free with a fare-paying adult! No ID is required. If they're riding solo (11-18), they'll need a school, state, or VRE Reduced Fare ID (apply here).

No ticket necessary! Simply board the train, sit wherever you'd like, and present a form of ID to the conductor if asked. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

An adult must be present for children 10 and under while ages 11-18 may ride unaccompanied with a valid form of ID.

For a day trip, we recommend the $10 Day Pass. It allows unlimited rides within a 24-hour period and eliminates the need to activate two separate single-ride tickets.
