VRE will implement a fare increase effective July 1, 2026. Tickets purchased prior to July 1 at the current rate will be honored until they expire.
The new full-fare and reduced-fare charts reflecting the fare increase are available on the Fares page at vre.org.
Those who allocate their SmartBenefits to VRE also will need to adjust their allocations in their WMATA SmarTrip accounts by June 21.
