VRE Cares is our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. By harnessing the passion and expertise of our staff, we take action on the issues that matter most—from organizing food, clothing, and blood drives to supporting local schools, nonprofits, and small businesses.
Through social media, outreach events, and community partnerships, VRE Cares builds awareness and drives impact—positioning VRE as not just a transportation provider, but a champion for the underserved across our region.

A VRE Cares Initiative
VRE Cares is proud to support the communities along our rail lines with the second annual Back-to-School Express, running Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 15.
In partnership with Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS), Educate Fairfax, Prince William County Community Foundation, Stafford County Schools, Arlington Public Schools, Spotsylvania Public Schools, and Manassas Park Schools. VRE is helping equip local students and teachers with the supplies they need to start the school year strong and we're asking for your support !
