VRE to run modified service October 19 - 23

Pause_for_Progress_outage

Critical Amtrak infrastructure work will close Union Station to rail traffic from the south over a ten-day period. The temporary service outage replaces aging track components at "a-interlocking", which controls rail traffic in and out of the First Street Tunnel into Union Station. The work will result in improved reliability along the Northeast Corridor.

The work begins after the end of VRE service on Friday, October 16 and continues through the early morning of Monday, October 26. VRE will run a modified S schedule Oct.19-23, terminating at L'Enfant in the AM and originating from L'Enfant in the PM. Passengers wishing to travel to Union Station are advised to find an alternate travel method from L'Enfant. View schedule details.
