When?

The next Santa Trains excursion will take place on: December 14, 2024. 

Ticket Sales

In-person tickets will go on sale Monday, December 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at designated vendor locations.

Online tickets will be available starting Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. through Eventbrite, until sold out. Please visit Ticket Sales for more information.

Please Note: All passengers -regardless of age - require a ticket! Tickets are non-refundable. 

Santa and Operation Lifesaver

Every year just before Christmas, kids and their parents are given the opportunity to ride a VRE train to meet Santa and friends, who are on board to promote rail safety and Operation Lifesaver’s “Look, Listen and Live” campaign. There will be plenty of Santa’s helpers handing out candy canes and coloring books, along with other festivity-makers.

We use this event as an opportunity to remind people of the importance of rail safety. So remember, that this event is not just for fun, but it also has an important message: "Look, listen and live!" Visit Operation Lifesaver for more on rail safety.

Toys for Tots

In addition, Operation Lifesaver Santa Trains also work in conjunction with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. So on the day when our Santa Trains operate, our Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Manassas, Burke Centre, and Woodbridge stations will also serve as drop off sites for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign. We are, therefore, encouraging everyone to bring an unwrapped toy to the Santa Trains so that someone less fortunate in the Virginia area can share in the joys of the holidays. VRE will not be collecting cash donations onboard the train, but you can send your monetary donations to https://www.toysfortots.org/donate/Default.aspx
