Project Description

Design a new employee parking facility at Crossroads maintenance & storage facility in Fredericksburg, VA. The lot will be located outside the yard perimeter as a safety improvement and accommodate for future staffing growth projections.

Project Purpose

The new permanent employee parking lot at VRE Crossroads Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) will provide a safe location for yard staff and train crews to park their vehicles outside of the yard away from rolling stock and provide direct access to the new Administrative and Employee Welfare (AEW) Building.

    Comments received on the combined site permit package have been addressed, and the revised package has been resubmitted to Spotsylvania County for review.

    Review comments on the combined site permit package have been received from Spotsylvania County, and comment resolution is underway. Coordination with the County regarding fire access requirements remains ongoing.

    We met with the design team this week to introduce VRE’s new project manager and received an update on the combined site permit resubmission, which will be delivered to the County later this month.
